In this post, I go over my experience: Halloween in Medellin is fun. I wrote this post about my dating experience in Medellin back in April of Places frequented by tourists in Medellin are more saturated with foreigners than before. Furthermore, I am aware of the underworld of sex tourism in Colombia and I know that there are many strip clubs and brothels in Medellin; however, strippers and prostitutes are not the types of girls that I date, nor is it something I would like to promote, therefore, I will not be referring to that in this post. My situation is a little different than most foreigners here in Colombia. At first glance, Medellin women do not perceive me as a foreigner due to the way I look. It is an immediate sense of curiosity that some Colombian women have upon meeting a foreigner. So I do not get that immediate attention here in Medellin.

Hesse Kassel Hesse Kassel is an Australian economist. He stopped chasing money and chased women and made children instead. He blogs right here Muslims account for over twenty percent of the population of the world and more than that fraction of prime-aged girls. For religious and cultural reasons these girls tend to be quite inaccessible to outsiders and often have their romantic and sexual choices restricted or simply made on their behalf.
A high proportion of Muslim girls, families, and communities take religious and cultural practices and rules seriously. These practices include an outright ban on romantic and sexual contact with non-Muslim men. That makes them a difficult, but not impossible challenge for an outsider. The journey to success with a Muslim girl is often challenging but can be a rewarding one. This article attempts to offer some guidance on what a man should expect on this journey.

It was easy for Megan Phelps-Roper to tweet things that made people cringe—she knew that they were evil or deluded by God. Megan Phelps-Roper, a twenty-three-year-old legal assistant, seized the opportunity. She believed that all manner of other tragedies—war, natural disaster, mass shootings—were warnings from God to a doomed nation, and that it was her duty to spread the news of His righteous judgments. To protest the increasing acceptance of homosexuality in America, the Westboro Baptist Church picketed the funerals of gay men who died of AIDS and of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Westboro had long used the Internet to spread its message. In , the church launched a Web site, www.
This post gives an overview of the independent fundamental baptist church, what they are and what their history is.
Luther challenged then-common church actions which he viewed as corrupt, among them the Catholic manner of handling the sacraments, the practice of simony, the rule of celibacy for clerics, and the sale of indulgences — remissions of punishment for sins which have been forgiven, the sale of which, he believed, reduced forgiveness of sin to the level of a financial transaction. Luther believed that forgiveness was God’s alone to grant, and therefore that both the clerics who sold indulgences and the parishioners who bought them thinking that they were thus to be absolved from punishment and granted eternal salvation were in error.
Within two weeks, printed copies of the “Ninety-Five Theses” had spread throughout Germany. The translation was printed and went into wide distribution, making the Lutheranism the first protest in history that “went viral” through the use of the then relatively new technology of the printing press. Within months, further language translations and reprintings had followed, and copies of the “Ninety-Five Theses” were available the length and breadth of Europe. The official split between Catholicism and Luther’s supporters occurred at the Edict of Worms , where Lutherans were excommunicated en masse from the Roman Catholic Church.
Martin Luther then went on to translate the entire Bible into German; the first printing of both testaments was released in In addition to his protests against the Roman Catholic Church, Luther later protested against the Jewish faith, writing that Jewish homes in Europe should be destroyed, Jewish synagogues burned, the money of Jews confiscated, and the liberty of Jews curtailed. These beliefs, while not a part of modern religious Lutheranism, did influence the political outlook of German Lutherans for centuries after Luther’s death.
Contemporary Lutheranism is organized into world bodies such as the Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference, the International Lutheran Council, and the Lutheran World Federation; as well as national and local administrative bodies called synods. Lutherans hold to justification through faith alone, over the good works professed by Catholicism. They celebrate two major sacraments, baptism and holy communion.
They do not practice confession after the manner of the Catholic church, although a confession of sins is given before receiving the Eucharist for the first time. Lutherans hold that baptism by water is a saving work of God, mandated by Jesus Christ, and that since the creation of faith is exclusively God’s work, the salvific grace of baptism does not depend on the actions of the one being baptized.

Johnsen, Linda Hindu History The history of Hinduism is unique among the world religions in that it has no founder or date of origin. While most major religions derive from new ideas taught by a charismatic leader, Hinduism is simply the religion of the people of India, which has gradually developed over four thousand years. The origins and authors of its sacred texts are largely unknown. Although today’s Hinduism differs significantly from earlier forms of Indian religion, its roots date back as far as BC, making it one of the oldest surviving religions.
Because of its age, the early history of Hinduism is unclear.

The name Independent Fundamental Baptist Church is used traditionally by churches which pattern themselves strictly after the example of the early church as found in the New Testament. Today the name Baptist is used by many churches who are not truly following the teachings of the New Testament. Some of these churches have gone so far to even deny the fundamental teachings of the Bible, such as the deity of Christ, the virgin birth and salvation by the Grace of God, through faith.
Others have to a lesser degree compromised the Word of God by their teaching, practices and church polity trying to confront to popular religious tends. The true Independent Fundamental Baptists have no association or fellowship with these churches because they teach or practice things contrary to the New Testament. In order to distinguish between the doctrinally unsound Baptist churches and those that believed the Bible many Baptist churches changed their name. These true Baptists added the adjectives Fundamental and Independent to their name in order that they not be identified with the false practices and teaching of the doctrinally unsound churches using the Baptist name.

What is the Pentecostal Church and what do Pentecostals believe? Pentecostalism is a fairly modern movement within Christianity that can be traced back to the Holiness movement in the Methodist Church. A major focus of Pentecostal churches is Holy Spirit baptism as evidenced by speaking in tongues. There are approximately different denominations that identify themselves as Pentecostal.
Toward the end of the 19th century, there was a dramatic rise in religious fervor as various groups anticipated the end of history and the return of Christ in Much of this fervor was driven by the revival meetings held by those in the Holiness movement, and there were occasional reports of people speaking in tongues.
The first widespread use of tongues was at a revival in Topeka, Kansas, in January , led by Charles Parham. Agnes Ozman, a Methodist, began to speak in tongues, and others in the meeting eventually followed suit. In , a series of revival meetings on Azusa Street in Los Angeles led to a widespread experience of tongues-speaking, which spread to many parts of the country.
The meetings were led by William Seymour, one of Charles Parham’s students. Parham and Seymour eventually parted ways, because Parham believed many of the manifestations of Azusa Street were of the flesh, or perhaps even demonic. By , Seymour had excluded all but African-Americans from holding office in the mission, and the ministry eventually faded into history.

Christian soteriology The central belief of classical Pentecostalism is that through the death , burial , and resurrection of Jesus Christ , sins can be forgiven and humanity reconciled with God. The fundamental requirement of Pentecostalism is that one be born again. Baptism with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues are not generally required, though Pentecostal converts are usually encouraged to seek these experiences.
Baptism with the Holy Spirit[ edit ] Main article: Baptism with the Holy Spirit Pentecostals identify three distinct uses of the word ” baptism ” in the New Testament: Baptism into the body of Christ: This refers to salvation. Every believer in Christ is made a part of his body, the Church, through baptism. The Holy Spirit is the agent, and the body of Christ is the medium. Symbolic of dying to the world and living in Christ, water baptism is an outward symbol of that which has already been accomplished by the Holy Spirit, namely baptism into the body of Christ.
This is an experience distinct from baptism into the body of Christ.
